AP Blog #1 - Due Friday, 9/2/11 by 7:50 AM

In 500 words or more, discuss what you believe it means to be a “reader” – where does most of your reading experience lie (fiction, non fiction, trashy magazines?). Why is being a reader important? If you could improve one thing about yourself as a reader what would it be?

Compose this in a formal tone, providing relevant examples from your past readings, experience of personal observations.

Welcome!

I hope you as excited for the upcoming school year, and ready to embrace the challenge that AP Language and Composition will present.

Please email me your blog URL (internet address) by Monday August 22.  You will begin creating your own BLOGs immediately.

When composing a BLOG, please remember the following things:

  1. BLOGs are public domain.  This means that anybody in the world will have access to the information you post here.  Please choose your words carefully - your writing is how you are presenting yourself to the world.
  2. Keep pictures of yourself school appropriate. This is not your Facebook page, and we do not want to see your weekend activities.
  3. When writing, always compose your words in a formal style.  You never know who will be reading your posts.
  4. Length of blogs?  These are not quick writes, nor should you consider them novels.  However, when composing responses to the questions, please add depth to your responses.  They should address the questions, certainly, however you may feel free to elaborate and create connections to other ideas, readings or observations.
Feel free to email me with any questions.  Welcome to the digital world of writing!
